Infrastructure Lead  

North Bristol – Hybrid working arrangements / Free Parking on-site

Salary £70-£80k + benefits

CPS Group have partnered with a leading Engineering Technology business that provides leading Software and Systems to the Public Sector.

Due to continued success they have an opportunity for an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to join their Bristol based IT Team.

This remains a hands on role in which you will lead a small team that designs, implements and administers IT Infrastructure for systems, test and integration environments. You will also work closely with product and project teams to delivery tailored systems and strategies for a range of production environments.

This role would suit someone from a DevOps / Automation Infrastructure background ideally with some DBA / SQL Database knowledge, along with Lead / mentoring experience as well as being able to operate on strategic Projects / Budget support too. 

The role:

• Lead the identification of requirements to design and implement IT systems such as  - workstations builds, network architecture, firewall and VPN config, systems configuration
• Systems Administration and Development
• Deployment of Operating Systems and software updates
• Configuration management
• Review, support and supervise the work of junior team members
• Provide support and input on technical IT solutions and systems for new bids/proposals

Skills / experience

• Experience within a similar Senior Infrastructure role, ideally at Lead or Management level
• DevOps / CI/CD experience - knowledge any of GIT / IaC / Infrastructure as Code / Jenkins / Terraform / Ansible / Kubernetes a benefit 
• Hyper V / Virtualisation environment experience
• Windows 10/11 – ideally with MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer) 
• SQL Database / DBA knowledge / experience ideal 
• Linux experience an advantage
• Candidates will need to hold or be eligible for SC Clearance due to the nature of the clients they work with.
