Senior DevOps Engineer – AWS
Salary: £60,000 – £80,000
Location: Remote – occasional travel to client sites in London
CPS Group are looking for an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join a growing technology organisation delivering complex, secure solutions across a range of high-profile projects.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys building new infrastructure and platforms from the ground up, rather than simply maintaining established environments.
You'll work across several programmes, including major UK Government projects and an innovative new technology programme focused on taking newly designed AI solutions and implementing and scaling them within live environments.
What you'll be doing
You'll take a senior, hands-on role across the full delivery lifecycle, working within agile engineering teams to design, build and deploy secure and scalable infrastructure.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Designing and building new AWS cloud infrastructure
- Developing and deploying infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Designing, implementing and improving CI/CD pipelines
- Building and supporting platform services for containerised applications
- Automating deployment, operation and monitoring processes
- Supporting the deployment and scaling of new applications and services
- Applying security best practices across cloud infrastructure and delivery pipelines
- Working closely with engineering teams to onboard products onto shared platform services
- Helping solve complex technical and infrastructure challenges
- Working directly with customers and technical stakeholders where required
- Supporting and mentoring less experienced engineers within delivery teams
The wider position involves taking ownership of complex technical deliverables and contributing throughout requirements, architecture, implementation and delivery.
We're particularly interested in engineers with strong experience across:
- AWS – strong commercial experience is essential
- Building cloud infrastructure from scratch
- Infrastructure as Code – Terraform, CloudFormation or similar
- CI/CD pipelines
- Containerisation technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Automation and modern DevOps engineering practices
- Designing and deploying secure cloud-based solutions
- Monitoring and platform services
- Agile delivery environments
- Taking ownership of technical solutions and key project deliverables
Experience leading the design and development of new solutions, mentoring other engineers and working with senior stakeholders would also be beneficial.
Security Clearance
Due to the nature of the projects, candidates will need to meet the required UK security clearance eligibility requirements, including being a British Citizen and having lived permanently in the UK for the last 5 years.
