Job Title: Junior Quantity Surveyor
Location: Cheshire (On-Site)
Salary: Up to £30,000 per annum
 
Overview
 
We’re looking for a driven and detail-oriented Junior Quantity Surveyor to join our on-site team in Cheshire. Reporting to the Senior Project Manager and working closely with the Managing Quantity Surveyor, you’ll play a key role in supporting the commercial and contractual side of multiple projects.
 
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with 1–2 years of experience in quantity surveying or cost estimation to grow their career in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
 
What You’ll Be Doing:
 
Supporting cost planning, budgeting, and forecasting for active projects
Assisting in preparing and reviewing payment certificates and variation orders
Reviewing contractor Bills of Quantities (BoQs) at the tender stage
Helping build up rates for contract items and activities
Monitoring provisional sums and budget allowances, making necessary adjustments
Preparing and reviewing cost reports and financial reconciliations
Keeping weekly and monthly reports accurate and up to date
Ensuring all QS-related data is correctly recorded in systems like FastDraft
Assisting with procurement activities and supporting supply chain management
Ensuring contract compliance and aligning project execution with budget goals
 
What We’re Looking For:
 
Degree, BTEC/SQA award, or relevant professional qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related field
At least 2 years' experience in a cost estimator or quantity surveying role
Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Project
Familiarity with cost build-up spreadsheets or estimating tools (advantageous)
Working towards or holding AssocRICS (preferred but not essential)
Strong communication, negotiation, and analytical skills
Ability to manage multiple deadlines and deliverables
Understanding of Health and Safety regulations
Knowledge of NEC contracts would be a bonus
