DevOps Engineer
Location: Hereford (Hybrid – 2–3 days onsite per week)
Salary: £50,000 – £70,000 per annum, depending on experience
Clearance: SC Clearable – Sole British Nationals only
CPS Group are supporting a global IT consultancy who are looking to grow their DevOps function due to an influx of new projects.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced DevOps Engineer to join a collaborative engineering team, working on complex projects across the UK Defence and Government sectors.
The Role:
- Design, implement and maintain cloud infrastructure using AWS.
- Deploy and manage Kubernetes clusters, using technologies such as Docker and Helm.
- Build and improve CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.
- Implement infrastructure monitoring, security and compliance measures.
- Optimise infrastructure for performance, scalability, availability and cost.
- Troubleshoot infrastructure and application issues.
- Support and mentor junior members of the DevOps team where required.
Required Experience:
- Experience in a DevOps or Cloud Engineering role.
- Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, ideally AWS.
- Experience with Kubernetes, Docker and infrastructure automation.
- Knowledge of CI/CD tools and Infrastructure as Code, such as Jenkins, GitLab and Terraform.
- An understanding of secure infrastructure, monitoring and high-availability environments.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Defence or Government project experience is highly desirable but not essential.
Security Clearance Requirements:
- Due to the nature of the projects, candidates must be eligible for SC clearance and be a sole British national.
- Candidates must also meet the relevant UK residency requirements for clearance.
