Lead Software Engineer - C# / .Net - Bristol - Hybrid - £60,000 - £65,000 + bonus

We're on the lookout for a Lead Developer with a strong technical foundation and a passion for working closely with both internal teams and external stakeholders to drive impactful software solutions. This is more than just a coding role—it's an opportunity to shape strategy, mentor developers, and act as a bridge between business needs and technical execution.

About the Role

You’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality C#/.Net solutions within a collaborative, test-driven development environment. This role goes beyond hands-on development—you'll be liaising with product owners, business analysts, external vendors, and clients to ensure the technical output aligns seamlessly with user needs and business goals.

We're building a culture of cloud-native, full-stack development excellence, and we’re looking for a strong technical leader to help embed best practices, influence architectural decisions, and support a culture of continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship across development teams.
  • Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code across full-stack applications.
  • Lead and participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical roadmap planning.
  • Ensure compliance with project objectives, timelines, and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and resolve system performance bottlenecks with effective cloud resource management.
  • Support the design, testing, deployment, and refinement of new features and products.
  • Advocate for and implement best practices in Agile development, TDD, and CI/CD pipelines.

Technical Qualifications

  • Expert-level experience with .NET Core, C#, and building cloud-native APIs.
  • Strong knowledge of JavaScript technologies (React, Angular, or similar).
  • Proven experience with AWS or Azure cloud infrastructure and services.
  • Strong grasp of Microservices architecture and event-driven systems.
  • Solid understanding of Automated TestingInfrastructure as Code, and DevOps practices.
  • Excellent communicator, able to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership in multi-team or cross-functional project environments.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary (above market rate)
  • Company-wide perks via Perkbox
  • Salary sacrifice & car schemes
  • Ongoing learning & development opportunities
  • A people-first culture where your voice and leadership will shape outcomes
