Test Engineer

Up to £45,000 p/annum + Annual Performance Bonus

Hybrid Working (Multiple office locations)

 

Security Clearance: Candidates must be eligible for security clearance due to the nature of the project.

 

CPS Group are supporting a leading IT consultancy in delivering a secure government programme. They’re looking for a Test Engineer to support the Test Lead in the successful delivery of testing activities across a complex digital environment.

 

This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated tester looking to develop their automation skills while working alongside experienced QA professionals on a high-profile public sector project.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Support the Test Lead in the planning, execution, and reporting of testing activities.
  • Create, maintain, and execute manual and automated test scripts.
  • Assist in designing test cases and test scenarios based on business and technical requirements.
  • Identify, log, track, and retest defects through to resolution.
  • Support System Integration Testing (SIT), Regression Testing, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Work closely with developers, business analysts, and project stakeholders to ensure quality standards are achieved.
  • Produce and maintain test documentation, test evidence, and progress reports.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.

 

Essential Experience:

 

  • Experience with or exposure to Ranorex for test automation.
  • Knowledge of TypeScript.
  • Commercial experience or strong understanding of software testing principles and the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Ability to write clear and effective test cases and test scripts.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and a willingness to learn from senior team members.

 

Desirable Skills:

 

  • Experience with C# for automation development and scripting.
  • Understanding of Agile delivery methodologies.
  • Exposure to test management and defect tracking tools.
  • Previous experience working within a regulated, public sector, or secure environment.
