Salary: Up to £65,000 + Bonus

CPS Group are working with an established technology business looking to recruit a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to take ownership of its cloud infrastructure and play a key role in the ongoing development of its SaaS platforms.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced infrastructure professional who enjoys getting hands-on with cloud technologies, driving improvements and having the autonomy to take projects from initial design through to implementation.

The Role

You'll take responsibility for the cloud infrastructure supporting the organisation's SaaS products and internal tooling, ensuring platforms remain secure, scalable and reliable.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Taking ownership of cloud infrastructure, primarily within AWS.
  • Designing, implementing and testing infrastructure solutions from initial concept through to delivery.
  • Reviewing existing environments and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Building proof-of-concept solutions to assess new technologies.
  • Developing and maintaining Infrastructure-as-Code and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Improving infrastructure automation, monitoring, logging and alerting.
  • Producing technical documentation and sharing knowledge across the team.
  • Providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers.
  • Supporting wider technology areas, including Oracle Database and Middleware Administration and End User Computing, with opportunities to develop knowledge in these areas.

What We're Looking For

You'll ideally have strong hands-on experience across cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS, alongside a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.

Essential experience:

  • Experience designing, building and operating cloud infrastructure supporting production services.
  • Strong practical knowledge of AWS services, including EC2, VPC, ECS, EKS, RDS and IAM.
  • Good understanding of cloud security, networking, scalability and infrastructure architecture.
  • Experience with container orchestration technologies, particularly ECS or Kubernetes/EKS.
  • Infrastructure-as-Code experience using Terraform or similar tools.
  • Experience building and improving CI/CD pipelines.
  • Knowledge of observability, including monitoring, metrics, logging and alerting.
  • Scripting experience with Python, Bash or PowerShell.

Desirable experience:

  • Microsoft 365 technologies, including Entra ID, Intune, Defender and Conditional Access.
  • Exposure to Oracle Database, Oracle Middleware or PostgreSQL administration.
  • Linux and Windows administration.
  • Configuration management tools such as Ansible.
