A well-established organisation in South Wales is offering an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Fire Risk Assessor to join its consultancy team. This is a fantastic role for an ambitious individual who is passionate about fire safety and keen to build a long-term career in the field.
You’ll follow a structured training and development pathway, combining formal courses with hands-on shadowing, to progress from trainee to a fully competent Fire Risk Assessor. With clear milestones and professional support, this role provides a strong foundation for a rewarding career in life safety.
Key Responsibilities

Undertake a structured training and development programme covering relevant fire safety legislation, regulations, and practical applications.

Shadow experienced Fire Risk Assessors on-site, drafting reflective journals and building knowledge through observation and supervised practice.

Gradually take responsibility for conducting low-risk fire risk assessments, progressing to more complex environments as competence develops.

Support colleagues by assisting with compartmentation surveys and other consultancy tasks.

Complete formal training courses and study modules to achieve required industry qualifications.

Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to ensuring compliance with fire safety standards.
About You

Strong interest in developing a career in Fire Risk Assessing.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Detail-oriented with strong organisational and time management abilities.

Confident IT user, with proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Proactive, willing to learn, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.

Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites as required.
